UPCOMING MEETINGS
Next Week's City Meetings are available on our Calendar
Below please find an update on recent City activities:
- The RFP for 18 Dennis Street has begun to be distributed and I would like to thank the Historic Preservation Commission in advance for their efforts to get prospective buyers interested in this property. We have also signed the agreement with Allie’s Enterprize’s Inc. to remove the personal property and debris from the house.
- Officials from the City and Gardiner Main Street visited 13 different businesses for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate their openings within the past year. These businesses included: Little Rascals, Gardiner Library (renovations), Serendipity Salon, The Girl Trend Shop, Stand Hard Tattoo, Monkitree, Ampersand Academy, Marni Lyn Photography, Holly Lynn Carlezon Hair and Nail Studio, TW Dick, Doses Pizzeria, Keystone Automotive, and River Road Variety. Congrats to each of these businesses and thank you for choosing Gardiner!
- With the help of our legal counsel, the City has filed the Motion to Intervene in the project at 649 Water Street, per the Council’s vote last Wednesday
- You recently received information from CMP regarding the scheduled installations of “smart meters” in communities across Maine, including Gardiner. If you would like a CMP representative to come to the Council and present more information on the program please let us know.
- A reminder that City Hall will be closed on Friday, December 24, 2010 in observance of Christmas. City Hall will also be closing at noon on Thursday, December 23, 10 so that employees may enjoy a holiday party together.
As always, I appreciate the opportunity to serve the people of Gardiner as City Manager.
