Meetings for the Week of March 4, 2007
City Council Meeting, March 7, 2007 - Hazzard Reading Room, Gardiner Library
Technology Plan
We continue a very aggressive implementation of the technology plan. We have been successfully running both old and new networks concurrently for about a month. The initial conflicts that caused some disruption were relatively quickly overcome, although during the problems it seemed time had stopped. Migration of data and functions to the new network will continue until only the old integrated municipal software (NDS) remains relatively soon.
Conversion of data and start up of new software modules is continuing. Expenses are now being routinely processed by the Unifund software, the FY 08 budget is being built in Unifund and revenues “go live” next week – just in time for the second payment of taxes. Payroll will undergo testing in late March with an April 1 implementation goal.
All this is happening with nary a hiccup. Anne Davis and Dee Berglund may be leading the charge, but Pat Coty in particular, and all administrative staff deserve a great round of applause for their positive attitudes, “can do” spirit, and just plain old courage to embrace major change and solve issue after issue. Thank you all!
