RE: Weekly Memo
Meetings for the Week of April 26, 2004
WWTP Adv. Comm. Wed., Apr. 28, 7:00 pm, City Hall
Council Meeting Thurs., Apr. 29, 7:00 pm, City Hall
Council Schedule
You will note the enclosed agenda for April 29 is fairly substantial. We will be unable to meet May 6, as I will be away May 6 and 7 at the closing retreat for the Maine Development Foundation Leadership Maine program I began a year ago. Therefore our first May meeting will be May 13.
FY 2005 Budget
Starting in January, the FY 2005 budget has been under development for several months. It is our intention to give the Council an Ebudget, in similar format to the recent Capital Improvement Plan, which seemed to work very well for everyone. Although we normally dive into budget workshops in early May, due to our meeting schedule it seems unlikely that we will get to a workshop before May 20. I will distribute a proposed workshop schedule with the budget, but for planning purposes a tentative schedule is below.
May 20 Public Safety, Public Works, Buildings and Grounds
May 27 General Government, Community Service, and Miscellaneous
June 3 Enterprise Accounts: Recreation, Wastewater, Ambulance
June 17, Receive Johnson Hall Task Force Recommendations
July 8 FY 04 Year End Financials and First Reading of the Budget
July 22 Assessed Valuation for FY 05, Calculation of Mil Rate, Second Reading of the Budget
