Kennedy School of Government
I have received formal notification that my application to Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government has been accepted. I will attend the Senior Executives in State and Local Government program June 11 – 30. This is an extremely exciting opportunity to hone skills and bring back great ideas and approaches to benefit our community. This year’s schedule has not yet been released, but in 2005 it looked to be an extraordinarily challenging three weeks, sure to both exhaust and inspire participants.
West Street Sewer
We have awarded a contract for the sewer replacement project at the bottom of West Street. This is the portion that due to settling over time and irregularities in pipe size could present some additional resistance to flows. It is expected the contractor will start on April 18th and finish April 21st. Our Public Works department is providing significant assistance to lower costs as much as possible. Engineers and City staff believe this project could have a significant effect upon odor problems.
