Groundbreaking/Ribbon Cutting
June 3 will be an exciting day. We will host an event that Saturday morning which celebrates several facets of the waterfront project. At 8 am the Mayor will cut the ribbon formally opening the trail along the waterfront. The “Run Tobacco out of Town” race will then use the newly dedicated trail for their event. At the conclusion of the race we plan to officially name the trail by selecting a name from contest submissions the schools are currently administering. And finally we will have a groundbreaking for phase one of the waterfront project. Quite an ambitious agenda for a late spring-early morning!
West Street
Anecdotal experience by City staff leads us to believe we have made significant headway on the odor issues on West Street. Although it is the residents who can really tell us, as City staffers spend time in the area on the various “fixes” we have implemented, odors seem to have entirely abated. We will quiz residents via email shortly.
