RE: Weekly Memo
Meetings for the Week of May 16, 2005
Planning Board Tues., May 18, 6:00 pm, City Hall
Council Meeting Thurs., May 19, 7:00 pm, City Hall
Library
Memorial benches remembering the important contributions of the late Norm and Blanche Gardner will be placed on the Library’s grounds. In addition a memorial fund has been started at the Library and already has a balance exceeding $10,000.
Northwest Quadrant Project
Northwest Quadrant bidding has been slightly delayed by project review at the funding agencies. It is expected that bids will actually go out by the end of this week. Bids will be opened at the end of the month and it is expected that an award will be made early in June.
Public Works
We have applied for $14,805 in Federal Emergency Management Agency funds to cover costs associated a particularly bad storm in early February. We will likely make application for a similar amount associated with another winter storm. These reimbursements would make a big difference to our winter roads account, which simply could not withstand the intensity of this past winter.
