Recycling Ideas
Mayor MacLean is interested in generating ideas about how to reduce Gardiner's solid waste stream. A meeting to brainstorm ideas will be held Monday May 7 at 6 PM in Council Chambers.

Day of Caring
Once again we have benefited greatly by the flurry of energy generated by Day of Caring. High school students worked on projects in the Common, on the waterfront, in the Downtown and on the Rail Trail. This is such a great event as it involves young people in these activities and is a tremendous help to the City.

Mr. Applebee Goes To Washington
Chuck recently was part of a delegation to visit the Capitol. As First Vice-President of the Maine Wastewater Control Association Chuck and two other officers traveled to Washington to discuss wastewater needs. The delegation met with all of Maine's congressional representatives and Chuck reports that Gardiner was very well recognized by the Senators and Representatives. As we are very aware here in Gardiner, wastewater mandates are very costly and numerous. Chuck was also able to discuss some Gardiner economic development projects.
