Business Visitation Program
For a number of years we have planned to conduct an assessment of the Gardiner business climate. The Maine Department of Labor conducts a Business Visitation Program in communities to assist in identifying the strengths and weaknesses in communities. The Main Street Economic Restructuring Committee has worked with MDOL over the past few months and preliminary results will be discussed June 7. The meeting is at Johnson Hall 5-7 p.m.
Pearl Harbor Remembrance Bridge
The Pearl Harbor Remembrance Bridge has been slated for reconstruction of the traveling surface, but MDOT operates in an environment that changes frequently these days and projects are often deferred or reprioritized. However, MDOT has received favorable bids on the bridge project, and will likely award the project soon. From mid July through October we should anticipate fairly substantial delays as only one lane of traffic each way will be maintained throughout the project.
