Adelphia/Time Warner Transfer
The Bankruptcy Court has approved the transfer of certain Adelphia assets to Time Warner, including all of Maine’s cable franchises. Along with many other Maine communities Gardiner got a request to approve the transfer last week. This fall we will need to act upon the request. As FCC regulation confines our examination to Time Warner’s legal, technical or financial capability, the review is extremely limited. A consortium of affected communities is likely being formed and we will consider becoming a part of that effort if it seems advantageous. Gardiner is in a very good position regarding this circumstance as our renewal is coming up in Spring of 2006 giving us the ability to negotiate any issues that are not allowed as a part of the transfer process.
NWQ
The Northwest Quadrant project was put out to bid this week. The results of the bid process will be very interesting given the challenges we encountered putting the project budget together.
