CITY MANAGER’S OFFICE
WEEKLY MEMORANDUM
TO:            Mayor Rines, Councilors and Department Heads
FROM:   Jeffrey Kobrock, City Manager
DATE:   July 14, 2006
RE:             Weekly Memo
Meetings for the Week of July 17, 2006

City Council Workshop.          Weds., July 19, 7:00 pm, EJ Prescott Bldg.

City Services
We have started the work on Brunswick Avenue Terrace. During the unprecedented rains of last fall the development’s original drainage systems were overwhelmed leading to flooding. We are improving those original systems to provide more effective drainage and greater capacity.

In the Northwest Quadrant project we have discovered substandard base material as we grind the existing pavement on streets. The contractor, engineer and City are all working to provide a feasible solution. Even so, the project is going very well. The contractor and engineer work well together and are very responsive. The City has good team to manage a project of this size and scope. The very wet weather was initially a real hindrance, but with the recent good weather progress has increased substantially.
