Council Meeting Thurs., July 28, 7:00 pm, City Hall
WWTP Project
The Combined Sewer Overflow/Plant Upgrade project is nearing the final stretch. It is a testament to Chuck’s fine planning and management of the project, and the efforts of the whole team Chuck has assembled that a $7.2 million project has proceeded with hardly a hitch or a hiccup!
The new primary clarifier is a few weeks away from testing; a temporary sludge press is operating outside the building allowing for removal (and auctioning) of the old press and installation of the new press; the new pipe installation is complete between the Maine Avenue Pump Station and the plant and the Maine Avenue Pump Station is due for high capacity testing soon; plant ventilation will be complete in early fall and the entire project is due to reach substantial completion by November. This project is under budget and more than six months ahead of schedule - the news doesn’t get much better than that. Congratulations to the project team!
Northwest Quadrant
Bids will be opened Tuesday, July 26 for the Northwest Quadrant Project. We expect to have a recommendation ready for the July 28 Council meeting.
Waterfront Project
The Waterfront Project has not yet been bid. We have been awaiting final project approval from MDOT. The project should go to bid very soon with an expected fall start.
