CITY MANAGER’S OFFICE
WEEKLY MEMORANDUM
TO:            Mayor Rines, Councilors and Department Heads
FROM:   Jeffrey Kobrock, City Manager
DATE:   September 8, 2006
RE:             Weekly Memo
Meetings for the Week of September 11, 2006
Economic Development Comm.      Tues., Sept. 12, 8:00 am, City Hall
Planning Board                          Tues., Sept. 12, 6:00 pm, City Hall
Kennebec County Caucus          Tues., Sept. 12, 6:00 pm, Library

Council Schedule
Although I had previously thought we would need to meet weekly in September, some potential agenda items are progressing a little slower than anticipated. I currently believe we will need both September 20th and 27th to stay abreast of issues. However, we can let next week (September 13th) slide by without meeting.

Jail Study Committee
I am serving on a committee to study Kennebec County’s jail operations and future needs. With very expensive jail projects in neighboring counties, Kennebec is to be credited with currently progressive jail operations and a proactive, future oriented approach to jail population pressures.
