Pray Street School Estimated Costs
As part of the formal closing process for the Pray Street School, MSAD 11 must estimate the costs of keeping the school open. If the closing were not approved in the November referendum the City would be liable for these costs. The City has a formal opportunity to question or protest the actual calculation of these costs at the upcoming Council meeting. Background on these estimates is in the packet. The estimated annual costs for keeping Pray Street School open are $128,606 or $57,126 when the Boys and Girls Club lease is taken into consideration.
City Staff
Wastewater operator Art Robinson has been selected for the Operator Exchange Program. This is a program of the Maine Wastewater Control Association. This is quite an honor as only one operator from Maine is selected annually. Art will be going to Rhode Island and visiting various wastewater plants and operations for three days in September. This should prove to be a very educational experience for Art and this competitive selection speaks very well of our wastewater operations and staff. Congratulations Art and whole wastewater team!
