Energy Cost
We have been watching energy costs recently to properly manage the situation. I have discussed with the management team that increased energy costs will make an already extremely tight budget even tighter. A group of managers is looking at energy costs and options we have for managing future increases. We recently opted in to the Maine Power Options “group buy” to possibly mitigate the steep increases slated for medium accounts in the standard offer pricing. We will continue to apply our best problem solving and management skills to the current environment of rising energy costs.
Johnson Hall Renovation Partnership
The feasibility/planning project that the City, Johnson Hall Inc., the Board of Trade and Gardiner Main Street have been working on for the past year is reaching a critical phase. On September 20 at 7 p.m. at Johnson Hall a final draft of the plan will be presented for review and input. This is a very ambitious multi-disciplinary planning approach that integrates market factors, facility needs, fundraising needs/potential, financial planning and feasibility, and organizational development goals. It will be a challenging final phase of the project to compose an effective plan that unites all the necessary components into a strong strategy.
