Johnson Hall Renovation Partnership
The consulting team developing a strategic renovation plan presented an update on Tuesday. Conceptual plans for both the existing space and additional space were presented. The fundraising, business, and organizational development plans will now be fleshed with based upon the facility concepts. The consulting team will continue working with the partnership committee to fully develop these additional pieces in the strategic renovation plan.
Technology Plan
We have completed the municipal software “joint purchasing” project organized by the Greater Portland Council of Governments. Thirteen communities participated in a proposal process with four municipal software vendors. Immediately after the close of the process we began discussions about the project with our vendor of choice. Conversion of the finance module can only be done at the end of a quarter, so the two potential conversion dates we are focusing on are March 31, 2006 and June 30, 2006 each of which have their unique advantages and disadvantages that we need to research. Other modules may have similar narrow opportunities for conversion and the whole project will need to be coordinated with staff training and the cycles of workflow throughout the organization.
