Meetings for the Week of October 4, 2004
Council Meeting Thurs., Oct. 7, 7:00 pm, City Hall
WWTP
Macmillan Construction, the “pipe contractor” on the wastewater project is starting October 11. The work will start at the waterfront and move toward River Avenue quickly. At various points along River Avenue/Rte 24 there could be significant disruption. Some of the project will run along the shoulder, some of it runs directly in the roadway. Although construction progress is always weather-dependent, it is unlikely this part of the project will be completed this year.
Public Safety
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded the Fire Department a $90,000 Homeland Security Grant. This grant will replace our aging and undersized generator and power all of City Hall. You may recall that current auxiliary power in City Hall is extremely limited. Congratulations Mark, Pat and the FD!
