Fire Prevention Week
Fire Prevention Week is being celebrated with a parade Saturday, October 15 at noon and an open house featuring pumping and extrication demonstrations as well as trophies and prizes!
Waterfront
Although the major part of the waterfront project got tied up in permitting delays and that has postponed the bidding of that portion, the walking trail is proceeding. Adjacent to the waterfront property is MDOT property that we have leased for recreation activities. Two years ago we started a trail on this property but stopped working on the trail when it became apparent that the Wastewater project would likely go directly through the trail area. With the Wastewater project wrapped up in that area, we will complete the walking trail this Fall. This is a gorgeous area of special note, and the trail will be a real unique asset.
Auction
The City will auction surplus property Saturday, October 15 at 10 am at the Public Works Facility. Viewing is just prior to the auction from 8 – 10am. Some of the treasures to be auctioned include a dump truck, modular office furniture, computers, an overhead crane, bikes, a washer/dryer, lockers, and much more.
