Waterfront Project
This project has gone extraordinarily well… to the point that Reed and Reed expects to finish up this year. Previously the timeline had final completion slated for May 2007, but current projections wrap up the project the end of the month. Reed and Reed has been an excellent partner on this project – extremely competent in a very unique field of construction that had many potential pitfalls.
Our “earmark” request (otherwise known as pork) has made it through the committee process in Congress, but the real hurdle is the actual FY 07 budget process that may come during the lame duck session after elections.
Northwest Quadrant Project
This is also a great success story, although work will surely continue into next construction season. St. Laurent Construction and Dirigo Engineers have been excellent partners in the project, and the whole project team has worked very well together. Problems have been solved cooperatively with a real priority given to helping residents cope with the disruption. Base pavement has been laid on Pope, Clinton and Plaisted Streets. Fountain Street is expected to receive a base coat very soon. Clean up work will continue after that with a shut down scheduled December 1.
