RE: Weekly Memo
Meetings for the Week of November 7, 2005
Election Day Tues., Nov. 8, 8:00 am- 8:00 pm
Planning Board Wed., Nov. 92, 6:00 pm, City Hall
First Park
T-Mobile has finished construction of their call center at First Park and has begun hiring. The statistics are very interesting. Of the approximately three hundred hired so far, employees come from sixty-seven different Maine communities. In addition, eleven of Maine’s sixteen counties are represented. Aroostoock, Washington, York, Hancock and Sagadahoc are those counties not represented. This is clearly a broad reach and a regional impact.
Banking Services
We received great response to our request for proposals for banking services. Five banks responded with a broad spectrum of proposals. It is very exciting to see the range of services available. An experienced colleague of Lynn Olson’s will assist Pat Coty and me in the review process. We expect to conduct interviews with finalists and have a recommendation ready for an upcoming Council meeting.
