CITY MANAGER’S OFFICE
WEEKLY MEMORANDUM
TO:              Mayor Rines, Councilors and Department Heads
FROM:   Jeffrey Kobrock, City Manager
DATE:   November 10, 2005
RE:             Weekly Memo
Meetings for the Week of November 14, 2005

Economic Development Comm.              Tues., Nov. 15, 8:00 am, City Hall
Historic Preservation                   Tues., Nov. 15, 6:00 pm, City Hall

Library
The stained glass window in the upper front façade of the Library was removed this week for rehabilitation. This delicate work will be done in keeping with the historic nature of the piece. The project will likely take until spring 2006 and cost up to $30,000. Rehabilitation of the remaining Children’s Room windows is next on the priority list. Currently more than $35,000 is available from private donations and a New Century grant.

A virtual tour focusing on Pulitzer Prize recipient E.A. Robinson’s history in Gardiner has attracted a $1,000 grant. Although the full scope of the project is greater than the present grant, current plans call for the tour to feature sixteen sites and to be placed on the Library’s web site.

Council Schedule
We will next meet for our regular meeting December 1. Agenda items for the special meeting November 17 are not pressing enough to justify a meeting. Enjoy a night at home!
