Grant for Library Renovations
The Library has received a $50,000 New Century grant for continuing necessary renovations and energy efficiencies. With a total of $625,000 requested and $350,000 available, requests were close to double the available funding, highlighting the competitive nature of our request.
This grant requires a 100% match. The library already has $20,000 on hand from fundraising efforts, but would like to exceed the match requirements by about $25,000. The grant will fund a Children’s Room makeover that includes removing the suspended ceiling to expose the newly renovated historic stained glass window and spectacular vaulted ceiling, new lighting and a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning system.
After that $125,000 project another project of equal scope remains for the first floor of the building. Congratulations Anne for initial successes on a very ambitious agenda!
