CITY MANAGER’S OFFICE
WEEKLY MEMORANDUM
TO:              Mayor Rines, Councilors and Department Heads
FROM:   Jeffrey Kobrock, City Manager
DATE:   December 2, 2005
RE:             Weekly Memo
Meetings for the Week of December 5, 2005

No Scheduled Meetings

Thanks Anne!
Anne Davis has finished a tough two months of transition in the Planning Development Department. Anne agreed to act as Interim Director soon after Chris Paszyc announced his pending departure. Anne worked with Chris to transition into the interim position, and then did “combat duty” while the position was vacant. Recently, Anne worked with Jason Simcock to transition him into the full time position. Finally Anne can become Library Director once again. We will miss you around City Hall Anne, but understand that you do have a full time job in another building!

Thanks Dot!
While Anne Davis was busy with interim duties, Dot Morang was once again playing the role of the “anchor” for departmental activities. Dot has worked with several code officers and assessors, so Dot knows all about transitions. And it is so true… we couldn’t do it without you Dot!

Thanks Pat!
And Pat Gilbert can go back to his “day job” now that Public Works and Buildings & Grounds have a supervisor again. It has been a long haul for Pat to act as interim supervisor of two very busy departments in addition to regular duties, but the fact that we haven’t skipped a beat speaks well of the organizational structure and its people. Thanks to all who helped us through this transition.
Welcome Jason and Sarah
Jason Simcock started just before Thanksgiving as Director of Planning and Development and Sarah Fritizhand will start on Monday as Community Development Associate. Welcome Jason and Sarah!

Council Schedule
It is likely that the next Council meeting will be our inauguration meeting on January 5, 2006. We are looking at the New Year already!
