CITY MANAGER’S OFFICE
WEEKLY MEMORANDUM
TO:              Mayor Rines, Councilors and Department Heads
FROM:   Jeffrey Kobrock, City Manager
DATE:   December 3, 2004
RE:             Weekly Memo

Meetings for the Week of December 6, 2004
Council Meeting                 Thursday, Dec. 9, 6:30 pm, City Hall
Gold Shovel-Groundbreaking
Everyone is invited to a gold shovel groundbreaking ceremony for the Wastewater Project on Wednesday, December 8 at 2:30 PM on the Waterfront. The contractor is making great headway on the “pipe portion” of the project and gathering at this site will be interesting and make for a good backdrop to the gold shovel event. As an added bonus, by finishing this portion of the Wastewater Project we pave the way for the Waterfront Project to proceed next spring. Cookies and coffee will be served and the Kennebec Journal and Capital Weekly have been invited.
WWTP Project
The contractor may finish with the waterfront and reach Rt. 24 within a week. The slab for the new clarifier has been poured at the plant. Piping from the clarifier into the treatment plant is progressing well. Chuck welcomes visitors who would like a first person view of the project.
