Staff Reorganization
We are entering the home stretch regarding the reorganization of staff roles. Although much of the process was completed in October, there are a few lingering items that are now coming to a close. Utility clerk positions are very close to being filled. Second interviews were held this past week and employment offers to candidates should be forthcoming. The status is similar with chief operator position at the Wastewater plant - interviews have been conducted and the position should be filled shortly.
Technology Plan
Concurrent with the reorganization is an aggressive implementation of the technology plan. The City’s new network will be phased in very shortly, the software vendor has been on site to conduct trainings and will conduct some broad based training regarding a new purchasing system/process this coming week. We expect to go live with the expenditure side of the accounting package January 1, with a payroll implementation on April 1, 2007. These will be exciting and challenging times for City staff!
