Holiday Luncheon
It is hard to believe that it is time for the annual Holiday Luncheon! Please join us Friday, December 23 at Noon. As we had intended an “extreme makeover” of the Employee Appreciation event, but never quite got the appropriate inspiration and vision for that reinvention, this will be an “expanded” (Better! Bigger! Improved!) Holiday Luncheon. More gifts… and food by the Olive Garden! Please mark your calendar!
Code Officer
We made a conditional offer to a Code Officer candidate this week. Subject to the standard background check we expect to have an announcement next week.
Central Street School
A follow up letter concerning the Central Street School is in the packet. After the recent Council discussion I conveyed the conversation to the party interested in the property. This letter attempts to address concerns that were expressed and provide details of renovation/rehabilitation plans. The City will need to nullify deed restrictions by providing a release deed to the Masons that will allow the transfer to proceed.
Banking Services
We have interviewed three of five banks that recently tendered proposals for services. Bangor Savings, TD Banknorth and Key Bank all presented their services and proposals. We will continue to analyze the proposals we received and consider the services we need and provide a recommendation for Council consideration early in January.
