Council Inauguration
Inauguration for incoming Councilors has been scheduled for January 5, 2006 at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers. Following the ceremony we shall recess to enjoy refreshments with our guests and invitees. After that recess, we shall start the New Year properly with a relatively full agenda of business items.
NWQ
The Northwest Quadrant project is being reconfigured for a January bid process. A new financing scenario based upon the reconfiguration will be presented and discussed prior to the project going out to bid. If you recall, the project was bid in July. The lone bid was approximately $500,000 over the project budget. We hope to find the market is more receptive to such a project in January.
Credentialed
I have received the Credentialed Manager status from the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). ICMA has a rigorous and internationally recognized program for professional governmental managers. To earn the status ICMA requires “a demonstrated commitment to high standards of integrity and to lifelong learning and professional development.” To maintain my credentialed status, I must complete an annual plan for ongoing professional development and community service.
