Holidays, Weather, and other Closures
Gardiner City Hall observes these National holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, President's Birthday, Patriot's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day and the following day, and Christmas Day.
During periods of harsh weather, City Hall may close so that employees are not endangered traveling to or from work in hazardous conditions. When State Offices in Augusta are closed for harsh weather, Gardiner City Hall will also close.
Occasionally the Front Office staff that handles most customer needs (payments, licenses and permits, vehicle registrations, etc.) must attend training, which causes that office to close. However, notices are posted at least one week in advance.
