Discuss creating a solid waste transfer facility

The Gardiner Transfer Company Located at 12 Troiano Way in the Libby Hill Business Park will be holding a Public Informational Meeting on July 7, 2022 at 6:00pm in the Council Room at City Hall regarding their work to create a solid waste transfer facility. The public is invited attend to learn more about this project.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO FILE

 

Please take notice that Gardiner Transfer Company, LLC - PO Box 3541 Portland ME 04104 207-767-2070 is intending to file the following applications with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) on or about July 8, 2022.

A solid waste facility license application pursuant to the provisions of Title 38 M.R.S., Section 1301 et seq. and 06-096 C.M.R. Chapter 400 et seq.

A Site Location of Development Permit Minor Amendment pursuant to the provisions of Title 38 M.R.S., Section 481-490 et seq. and 06-096 C.M.R. Chapter 372 et seq.

 A Natural Resources Protection Act Permit application pursuant to the provisions of Title 38 M.R.S., Section 480A through 480-BB et seq.

A public informational meeting will be held on July 7, 2022 at 6 pm at the City of Gardiner City Hall Council Chambers at 6 Church St, Gardiner, ME 04345.

The application is for a solid waste transfer station at 12 Troiano Way, Gardiner Maine owned by Gardiner Transfer Company, LLC and operated by Troiano Transfer Station, Inc.

According to Department regulations, interested parties must be publicly notified, written comments invited, and if justified, an opportunity for a public hearing given. A request for a public hearing, or that the Board of Environmental Protection assume jurisdiction of the application, must be received by the Department, in writing, no later than 20 days after the application is accepted by the Department as complete for processing.

The application and supporting documentation are available for review at the Bureau of Remediation and Waste Management (BRWM) at the appropriate DEP regional office, during normal working hours. A copy of the application and supporting documentation may also be seen at the municipal office in Gardiner, Maine.
