RFP: Church Street Sewer Line Replacement

The City of Gardiner is seeking proposals from qualified firms with demonstrated experience and expertise to replace approximately 750’ of clay tile sewer line that has failed on Church Street in Gardiner, Maine as well as add a single 48” sewer basin, replace a 48” sewer basin, repair a 48” sewer basis, and pave the affected area.  

Scope of Work
Any entity selected by the City, or its authorized staff and committees, pursuant to this RFP will be required to enter a not-to-exceed contract for the following services:

  1. Excavate existing clay tile sewer line and replace with 8” SDR-35 PVC.
  2. Full replacement of two 48” sewer basins
  3. Partial replacement of one 48” sewer basin
  4. Add one 48” sewer basin to the line.
  5. Full depth compaction in the trench
  6. Pavement should be cut back 1 foot larger around all sides of trench and or any disturb soils.
  7. Minimum of 4” pavement depth replaced in the roadway.
  8. Grind around all sides of trench to provide a shiplap pavement finish.
  9. Minimum of 18” gravel
  10. Maintain all necessary safety and roadway requirements during construction. 

Timeline for Selection & Project Completion

  • RFP out on 06/01/2023
  • RFP Submissions due 06/15/2023 at 12:00pm
  • Public Bid Opening 06/15/2023 at 12:05pm
  • Work to be completed 60 days after Notice to Proceed
