Road & Flooding Issues in Gardiner

Due to the recent heavy rain there have been a few issues that the City of Gardiner has had to implement for the safety of our citizens and visitors.

  1. Harrison Avenue has been closed (local traffic excluded) from its intersection with Cobbossee Avenue to Ash Street because of a washout due to the heavy rain. It is not known at this time when it will be opened up again.
  2. The Gardiner Waterfront is closed due to rising water that will be coming onto the property due to the upcoming tides. We will re-open the Waterfront when the waters recede enough to safely keep it open.
  3. The Arcade Parking Lot & Arcade Street will be closing tonight, May 1, 2023, at 6:00pm due to rising water that will be coming into the road and lot due to the upcoming tides. We will also re-open this when the waters recede enough to safely open it. Parking is available in the Hannaford lot as well and near the Key Bank ATM. Overnight parking on Water Street from 6:00pm to 6:00am will not be enforced but daytime parking limits still apply. We are hoping this event will not be longer than 24 hours.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
