Housing Action Plan

Housing Documents

The City of Gardiner adopted the Housing Action Plan created by Community Current, Inc. and MRLD, LLC in February of 2003. The Housing Action Plan was the culmination of comprehensive effort to address the City’s housing needs.

Housing Assessment: completed between June and October 2002. The assessment analyzed the city’s housing situation in regard to 21 different topic areas. Upon completion consultants prioritized these 21 topics by level of need.

Prioritization of Potential Housing Initiatives: Working with the Housing Committee and city staff, the consultants developed a system for ranking potential initiatives in terms of their ability to address the City’s priorities. A rank-ordered list of potential housing initiatives was presented to the City as a result of this process.

Housing Action Plan: lists specific steps that need to be undertaken by the City government and various public and private sector partners in order to address the City’s housing needs. The plan puts proposed initiatives in order, assigns responsibilities, identifies potential funding sources and partners, and groups related items together. The Housing Action Plan lists over 40 initiatives the City must take to address Gardiner’s housing needs.
