Waterfront Park Closing at 2pm March 7

Due to the flood warning in effect and predicted water level rise for the Kennebec River, the City of Gardiner will be closing Waterfront Park at 2pm today, March 7, 2024.

Current and predicted flood levels for the Kennebec River at Augusta are available on the NOAA website HERE. The water levels in Gardiner are usually around 6 feet less than the levels in Augusta.

The Arcade remains open at this time. The city will be monitoring the flood levels, with an expected crest between 2-3am tonight.

Another storm system will bring more rain Saturday night through Sunday and will cause potential flooding impacts. Conditions will be monitored and updates will be posted on the City of Gardiner’s website, through the Gardiner Current mobile app, and on Facebook.
