Fire Prevention Tips

"DO"

  • Install smoke detectors near or in sleeping quarters.
  • Change batteries twice per year. We recommend to do this during daylight savings time changes.
  • Keep all smoking and related material away from young children.
  • Develop a family fire escape plan. Always have two means of exiting your house.
  • Install and maintain an ABC rated fire extinguisher.

"DON'T"FIRE PREVENTION

  • Remove smoke detector batteries to use in other applications.
  • PANIC-try to remain calm.
  • Ever use water to extinguish a grease fire.
  • EVER **EVER** GO BACK INTO A BURNING HOUSE ONCE YOU HAVE EXITED!

REMEMBER - FIRE PREVENTION BEGINS AT HOME! and Fire Prevention week is always the week in October starting on Sunday which includes October 9th and concludes that Saturday.
