Fire Safety - In Home Checklist
"DO"
- Install smoke detectors near or in sleeping quarters.
- Change batteries twice per year. We recommend to do this during daylight savings time changes.
- Keep all smoking and related material away from young children.
- Develop a family fire escape plan. Always have two means of exiting your house.
- Install and maintain an ABC rated fire extinguisher.
"DON'T"
- Remove smoke detector batteries to use in other applications.
- PANIC-try to remain calm.
- Ever use water to extinguish a grease fire.
- EVER **EVER** GO BACK INTO A BURNING HOUSE ONCE YOU HAVE EXITED!
REMEMBER - FIRE PREVENTION BEGINS AT HOME! and Fire Prevention week is always the week in October starting on Sunday which includes October 9th and concludes that Saturday.
